Hello There,
We are SueMe. We design and produce responsibly sourced sportswear. We endeavour to keep our costs and environmental impact down, as every little effort, when combined with everyone else's efforts will make a big difference, and we would like to share this with you.
We love life, we live it to the full, and we enjoy our planet. We'd like it to be around for many generations to come.
What goes around comes around, after all.
What we do as individuals today can have a great influence on our future. So we try and live each day a little better, as we learn more. We strive to spend as much time as we can outdoors, doing things, and we want that outdoor sports environment to be there for all to enjoy. So key for us in our sportswear is to always look at how we design, create, make, ship, use, wash and dispose of SueMe products. From idea to prototype to the products we, and you wear, we try and think through the whole value chain, and do our best at each stage to minimise the impact and maximise the end result. When we can, wherever we are able, we use organic and/or sustainable materials.
Fabrics At the heart of all that we do, we strive to use natural fibres and raw material sources. Organic cotton, Modal, wool and bamboo viscose are all part of our fabric toolbox to create the best products. We also choose materials to last well. Comfort is key, next to skin in hot, cold, humid or very dry conditions. You will see a lot of fibre mixes as we try to maximise comfort, performance and durability though repeated wash and wear, wherever you are in the world.
Bamboo viscose fibres made from one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Naturally anti odour, soft, silk skin feel, super absorbent, very durable, cool in heat, warm in cold.
Organic cotton from the best sources we can find, best growing conditions, people conditions and best quality for better performance, skin feel and durability.
Modal made from beech trees. Like our bamboo viscose, a natural raw material resource is transformed into a fibre which is naturally very absorbent, soft, can be made in a variety of yarns types and filament counts, dyes well resists odour. We find it especially suited to next to skin underwear, combined with a little Lycra/ Elastane/ Spandex.
Wool ideally sourced from reused wool products. Not an easy starting point, but a great way to get quality products and give them a second or third life. Wool we love for warmth, warmth when wet and resistance to odour. We tend to combine this with other fibres to optimise durability and fit.
Dyeing and finishing are as careful and thoughtful as we can find in terms of dye materials, dyeing methods and recycling and reuse of dye liquors and dye stuffs.
Printing using water based inks helps reduce use of harmful solvents and inks. We select the best inks to give softness, durability and breathability. We do the same in the print design to minimise layers of ink and maximise softness, moisture wicking and minimise drying time, on prints inside and on the outside of the garment. Prints are built to fade and age naturally with your garment.
Manufacturing partners who share the same beliefs and goals as we do. As close to where you can buy SueMe garments as we can find. Finding partners with a high standard of craft and workmanship in pattern, fit, knitting and weaving, dyeing and finishing, as well as cutting, sewing and printing. As close as we can find to minimise transport costs and our global footprints.
Multi-use products which can be used for multiple sports and occasions. SueMe products are engineered to wash and wear, again and again, wherever you are, whatever you do.
Best quality product, from fabric to sewing, to last longer, wash and wear better.
Packaging is minimised to cut down on waste, transport costs and fuss. Reuseable, useful and functional. Reuse as a shopping bag, storage bag or wash bag. Or use as a gift bag for friends.
Comfort is enhanced with small things that make a big difference. No internal labels sewn in, so no irritation, roughness, rubbing or chaffing. Tape bound seams at key skin contact points for comfort and durability, seams positioned to be out of the way to reduce rubbing, chaffing or pressure.
Details like bar tacked seams, tape binding, core spun threads, some of the best zippers and fasteners available anywhere. Hidden pcokets, extra belt loops, holes for your headphones or redesigned seams.
Fit and pattern is something we never stop working on, be it extra fabric at the knee, longer lenght in the body of a tee, or repositioned seams in our underwear. We are always striving to try new fits and shapes, and improve what we have.
Changes and improvements come about as SueMe product is always being used, worn and thought about. There are always things we are thinking of how to improve as we use them and see new challenges and opportunities. You should see this in each and every batch of product as we seek to build on what has gone before to make better products.
At SueMe we try to reduce our impact today, so that we can enjoy many more tomorrows.
